MOE. (Motswedi Modiba) born on April 14 in 1997 began her music career in ‘07 at age 10, when she was featured on a song by popular gospel artist Tebs David. Shortly after she was casted in the South African Christmas movie “A Christmas Star” for the role of the ‘daughter’, which aired annually on South African Broadcasting Channel.

Having being raised in a musical family, she immediately knew that entertainment would be what she would pursue and make a success of. While completing her basic education at the Pretoria Chinese School, she won the talent division and placed 3rd overall of the international Chinese Bridging Competition, in grade 11. She then studied Chinese language and literature on scholarship in China, then returned to South Africa to pursue her passion by studying Bachelor in Music at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.

With proficiency in the Mandarin Chinese dialect, upon completing her studies in 2021, she found herself equipped with a prestigious university degree in music, a well-travelled mind, a body full of talent.

With the resurgence of content creation during the COVID-19 pandemic, MOE. took to social media to keep herself busy. Unbeknown to her, this would be the beginning of her global music journey as her TikTok videos started gaining the attention of audiences across the world in early 2022.

From the USA to the UK, Brazil, Philippines, and even Nigeria. She built a fanbase upon fanbase! Growing her TikTok following to 700,000 (and counting) followers in just under 2 years with SA and the US leading the consumption pack. Her videos has garnered over 50Million views thus far.

MOE. opened a Chinese Tiktok account 抖音, in April '23 which has thus far gained over 610k+ followers and over 100M+ views in her first year. Off the uber-success of her account, MOE. was invited by China’s most popular singing competition, Sing! China in 2023. She made history as the first Black African to grace the legendary stage and her audition video has gained over 200 Million views and counting. With worldwide media coverage from broadcasters such as BBC and CNN. She has already embarked on a successful tour in China, while proudly representing her country as an official Global Ambassador of South Africa under Brand SA (mandated by the presidential office of South Africa). MOE. was also a invited as a spotlight speaker at the FORBES Africa Leading Women Summit in 2024.

 MOE. has released 2 singles which have taken the SA RnB music lovers by storm. Her first single 'it was a vibe' enjoyed an International debut in London on BBC1Xtra with Dj Ace. Her latest single ‘Me ever after’, charted at #1 on SA most popular commercial station Gagasi FM for RnB, for 3 consecutive weeks!

She also won the highly coveted Metro FM award for 'Best new age RnB' in May '23 and is soon to release the much anticipated Chinese version of her song ‘Me ever after- 筽明期待’.

FrontPage, a media publication in South Africa has pegged MOE. was named as one of the rising stars of 2024, naming her as FrontPage Mzansi HotList for must watch talent of 2024.

MOE. graduated with her Masters in Music at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music (Deans List) in New York, where she received a full scholarship. She enjoyed a completely packed out audience at her last show in New York and is continuing to cultivate a keen audience to her music through a number of live shows and appearances globally. Within months of graduating, MOE. has already enjoyed performances at venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Centre, Madison Square Garden (to a sold out audience) to name a few, alongside her colleagues.

Most recently MOE. was asked to join world renowned, multi-award winning film composer Hans Zimmer as he embarks on his Hans Zimmer Live! USA and Canada tour from Sept ‘24-Oct ‘24. She served as choir leader for rehearsal week and successfully completed the tour in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Arena.

She has enjoyed global invitations such as performing in Malaysia over New years and is now gearing for a global tour in 2025- more details to be announced soon.

In addition to a number of collaborations with international companies and artists, she is also working with internationally acclaimed producers on her highly anticipated EP which will be released in 2025.
